The Wayne Township Training and Safety Division is charged with creating and maintaining well trained firefighters to serve the citizens of Wayne Township. Beginning with the Central Indiana Fire Academy, new firefighters are trained to rigorous physical and mental standards. After graduating from the Academy, firefighters continue their education for the entire term of their careers.

Additionally, this division maintains and revises the safety policies that are used to keep our firefighters safe. Everything from station wear to turnout gear to procedures are scrutinized to make sure that every firefighter that comes to work, goes home at the end of their shift.

The Central Indiana Fire Academy graduated 16 new firefighters from 7 fire departments on June 25th, 2010. Congratulations to these new firefighters and good luck in your careers with your department.
