Wayne Township Fire Department responded to a working house fire with explosion and injury. On Friday, October 22, 2021, firefighters from Wayne Township, Speedway, and Indianapolis Fire Departments responded to a residence fire with explosion and injury around 8:15 am in the 500 block of Rybolt Avenue on the city’s Westside. Five civilians were injured (four were transported to area hospitals, one refused treatment on the scene) and one firefighter was transported with minor injuries. The fire is under investigation.
