Katie Heishman is our next new recruit introduction. Katie, a 23 year old paramedic, who started in our EMS division to join this recruit school. Katie was born in St. Cloud, Florida, but raised in Bloomington, IN, and attended Ivy Tech Community College where she earned her Paramedic Science degree. Katie is a K9 search specialist with INTF-1and is currently working to get her K9 Taki certified. Katie has three dogs and two horses and decided to pursue a career in the fire service as way to serve her community and challenging herself to continue to grow.
Katie said “I grew up in a rural area and had always heard how elite the Wayne Township Fire Department was. After I became a part of the EMS division I knew this was the department I wanted to make a career at.”
